![]() ![]() You enjoy having a stronger character and like farming? Awesome, stop thinking of anything past that. There is no point, very few games or hobbies have a point, the "point" is to have fun. And the same thing goes if enemies scale to your level (Like Diablo 3 seems to do?) Then there's no "end" to it, so increases lose meaning despite the enemies still matching you. It's all well and good to loot some super rare and super efficient weapon, but if there's no proper, defined enemy to match that weapon, it feels kinda pointless. The problem for me isn't the loot system, it seems, because I'm still young and I have the time for grinding (Not to mention I find it fun) It's the progression. The thing is, having better weapons and armors, and the different "builds" you can make with them, feels like an actual reward to me compared to what seems to be the gameplay of Diablo, because MH is a *very* long term game You'll have a five hundred hours before you're fighting the true final boss, and you'll need all those upgrades to fight it. The thing is, I have no difficulty seeing the point of grinding and looting in something like Monster Hunter (Second time I've mentionned it here) You loot parts to get better armor and weapons, to get better parts etc. On the other hand, I highly anticipate games like Starfield, Elder Scroll 5 for those juicy story experience.ĭisclaimer: my opinion is strictly not against anybody, I've had my fair share of grinding in games in my twenties but I just wanna clarify that there are people out there who's into Diablo for this very specific reason. Gonna wait till review is up and see how goes it. Now that the original people behind the magic of Blizzard are mostly gone, on top of the fact that some reviewers and streamers are saying the story post-arc one is not too good, I doubt I'll ever experience it here. I tried the diablo 4 beta and the crappy in-game cinematic intro, the early story buildup is disappointing, where's the kickass voiceovers, where's that strong scent of dread or mystery, etc. Gameplay is secondary to the immersive story progression. The magic and surprise are lost on multiple playthrough. My 2 cents: I played d1, d2, d3 at launch for the awesome classic Blizzard mythology and story, at most twice in a complete playthrough and never touch the game again.
